Sam Rockwell in Final Talks to Star in Eastwood Directed Film THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL

Oscar-Winning actor Sam Rockwell is currently in final talks to take on a lead role in the upcoming Clint Eastwood-directed film The Ballad of Richard Jewell for Warner Bros.

The movie will follow the true life story of Richard Jewell, “the security guard whose life was turned upside down after it was leaked by law enforcement to a reporter that he was a possible suspect in the Olympic Park bombing during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.” Rockwell will play the attorney who represents the wrongly accused Jewell, who has not yet been cast.

Rockwell is a fantastic actor who is so eloquent and thoughtful in his portrayals, and Eastwood is such a great director. I am looking forward to this film already, and I’m not even very familiar with this case, as I was a kid when all this went down. It sounds captivating and sad, and I’m really interested to see who else fills the roles in the film. The Ballad of Richard Jewell is currently in pre-production, and we will keep you updated as info rolls out.
