Samara Weaving Offers Update on READY OR NOT Sequel and She's "All In"
A sequel to the awesome horror comedy film Ready or Not was announced several months ago and Samara Weaving is set to reprise her role in the film, with Adam Robitel (Escape Room, Insidious: The Last Key) coming in to direct.
There’s been no update on the project since it was announced, but Weaving recently offered an update on it and she confirms that she’s “all in.”
During an interview with CB, the actress said: "I'm all in. I think we're all in, I don't know. I think we're all in. I don't know if we've had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We've done the spit handshake, but we haven't cut each other's hands and rubbed our blood together."
As far as when the project could move forward, Weaving joked, "I've just gotten home, I need to make some calls."
As for what the sequel will entail, Weaving said: "I wonder what happens afterwards. Does she go to jail? Does she go to an asylum for psychiatric help? Does she inherit everything? I don't know.
“Or the police would say that she did it on purpose. I don't know ... Sitting in a jail cell for 90 minutes, just going insane."
The original film was directed by Radio Silence - Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett - who have been keeping busy since the first film became a massive hit.
Weaving plays Grace Le Domas in the franchise, and the first movie is a fun and thrilling horror-comedy that blends dark humor with suspenseful horror elements. The story centers on Grace, a young bride who marries into the wealthy but eccentric Le Domas family.
On her wedding night, she discovers that there's a macabre tradition within the family: every new member must participate in a random game as an initiation ritual. Unluckily for Grace, she draws "Hide and Seek," which she soon learns is a deadly version where she must hide while the family hunts her with the intent to kill her before dawn as part of a mysterious pact they believe they must fulfill to maintain their wealth and status.
What follows is a night of intense survival, as Grace savagely fights back, uncovering the family's dark secrets and transforming from a scared bride into a fierce survivor.
