Samsung Is No Longer Going to Make New Blu-ray Players

The end of an era may be coming. Samsung has confirmed to CNET that they will “no longer introduce new Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray player models in the US market.”

That’s right, you will no longer find a new Blu-ray player model from Samsung. One theory as to why they are bowing out of the market is that they haven’t caught up technologically. After all, they never got on board with Dolby Vision, but rather worked to make HDR10+ which is not as common.

I’m sure that the decline of physical media isn’t helping either. How long do you think before more players stop making Blu-ray players?
