Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie Play Revolutionary Businessmen in Trailer for THE BANKER

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for their upcoming new film called The Banker, which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie. While the film was produced by the recently launched streaming service, The Banker will get a major theatrical release next month.

The film tells the true story of “revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who devise an audacious and risky plan to take on the racially oppressive establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream. Along with Garrett’s wife Eunice (Nia Long), they train a working class white man, Matt Steiner (Nicholas Hoult), to pose as the rich and privileged face of their burgeoning real estate and banking empire – while Garrett and Morris pose as a janitor and a chauffeur. Their success ultimately draws the attention of the federal government, which threatens everything the four have built.”

The film was directed by George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), and it looks like it’ll be a great and enjoyable film that tells a great story. Jackson and Mackie are both fantastic actors, and this it’s a perfect project for them to be a part of. These roles they play allow their talents to really shine.

The Banker opens in theaters on December 6, 2019 and then arrives on Apple TV+ in January 2020.
