Samuel L. Jackson Reveals Don Cheadle Will Appear in Marvel's SECRET INVASION Series
It looks like Don Cheadle will be reprising his role as Colonel James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, in Marvel’s upcoming Secret Invasion series! This reveal came from Samuel L. Jackson during a recent interview with Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast. Here’s what he said:
"C'mon man, you walk on the set, Emilia's amazing… Ben Mendelsohn, he's awesome. Don, Don Cheadle. I got Don, that's my golf buddy. I didn't realize it, but til we did this thing, I was like, 'We've never worked together.' We just kinda know each other, hang out and laugh… but we'd never worked together and we finally got to work together."
Cheadle previously appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and he’s also got his own Marvel series that he’s set to headline with Armor Wars. That show has yet to start shooting, but it’s cool to learn that the character is set to show up again in a different Marvel show. Maybe his appearance in Secret Invasion will play a part in setting up his story arc for Armor Wars.
There’s no word on how big of a part he has in the series, but it must be a decent-sized because it seems like Jackson has been spending a good amount of time with him.
The Secret Invasion series “centers on Fury and Talos — who first met during the events of Captain Marvel — and a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.”
The series also stars Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, and Killian Scott.
Are you excited to hear that Cheadle will be back as War Machine in Secret Invasion?
