Saoirse Ronan Will Not Be in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII
As you know, Saoirse Ronan was up for a major role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. It looked like she was going to be cast in the film, but apparently it didn't work out. Ronan herself has said that she doesn't have the role.
When she was was talking to The Playlist, they asked her about the casting, and apparently she disappointingly told them,
"I don't have Star Wars. I don't have the role. I just shouldn't have said anything. I just auditioned for it, like everyone else did."
That's kind of a shame, as I thought she would be a great fit in the Star Wars universe. It definitely sounds like she regrets saying anything about the audition. I doubt it's the reason why she didn't get the part though.
There has also been a rumor that she is up for the role of Sue Storm in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four. When she was asked about that rumor she said,
"I only heard that rumor. I'm not signed up for Fantastic Four."
So I guess we can put that to rest as well. Ronan has made a great acting career for herself, and she's not going to be hurting for jobs anytime soon. Maybe one day she will get the big, epic tentpole film.
