Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Cast of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER Celebrate the 22 Year Anniversary
This past weekend, on March 10th, marked 22 years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer first aired on The WB. 22 years! I can’t believe it’s been that long.
Buffy is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I’ve recently been watching it again with my daughters who have been loving it! It’s so funny to watch them react the ‘90s era of the show.
To celebrate and mark the occasion, Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Nicholas Brendon, and Charisma Carpenter all chimed in on social media.
In case you didn’t know, Gellar originally was up for the role of Cordelia, which ended up going to Carpenter, who originally was up for the role of Buffy. Gellar actually ended up approaching creator, Joss Whedon, about auditioning for Buffy instead, and well… we all know how that turned out.
In the end, the casting for everyone was perfect for the characters they played. Here’s what the other cast members of the show had to say:
Name your top 10 Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode’s and I’ll reveal mine later today.#BuffySlayDay #NickyBrendon #NicholasBrendon https://t.co/uS2Bdkb4gp

Lots of fans of the series also chimed in saying:

It’s #BuffySlayDay and it’s not often I admit a TV changed my life, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn’t only fun, spooky, and cool, it also taught me its okay to be weird and unpopular (and that it’s even a good thing)! Twenty-Two years ago today! pic.twitter.com/fiR34cztYv
