Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Set to Star in a Series Adaptation of the Thriller SOMETIMES I LIE

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to star in and executive produce an adaptation of the novel Sometimes I Lie. It seems like it’s been awhile since we’ve seen Gellar in anything, so it’s good to see her land a new gig. She’s actually only done two shows since Buffy ended.

In this new series, Gellar takes on the role of Amber Reynolds, “a woman who wakes up in a hospital, unable to move, speak or open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they don’t know she can. Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. The timeline alternates between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago.”

The novel that the series is based on was written by BBC journalist Alice Feeney, and Ellen DeGeneres’ A Very Good Production and Warner Bros TV are producing the show. Oscar-nominated writer Robin Swicord (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) was also hired to write the adaptation.

We may not get to see Gellar back in action kicking ass and killing vampires again, but it seems like it will be great project for her to take on.
