Sarah Michelle Gellar Teases Her Character in WOLF PACK Saying It's a Slow Burn with a Big Payoff
Sarah Michelle Gellar’s next big TV project is a supernatural werewolf series titled Wolf Pack, and it actually looks like it might be a good show! I’m looking forward to watching it, and as a longtime Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan, it’ll be cool to see Gellar back in action in another supernatural project.
During a recent interview with TV Line, Gellar talked about the new series and explained what fans can expect. When talking about her character, she said it’s going to be a slow burn and teased that it’s going to lead to a payoff that is worth the wait. She explains:
“I think the main thing for them to know is that it’s a little bit of a slow burn with me, and to trust that there’s a reason I’m on this show. It might not be obvious at first, but I promise there will be twists that they will not see coming.”
Gellar plays a series regular on the show named Kristin Ramsey, an arson investigator who’s “highly regarded expert in her field and no stranger to personal loss, brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started a massive wildfire which may have also led to the reawakening of a supernatural predator terrorizing Los Angeles.” She went on to tease:
“It might not be obvious in the first three [episodes], but by the time you get to four and five you’re going to get some twists. … In [episode] eight, you’ll get the me you came to see. You’ve got to wait, but it’s worth the wait.”
The series comes from writer and executive-producer Jeff Davis (Teen Wolf), and it’s based on Edo Van Belkom’s book series.
The story “follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature. Wounded in the chaos of its attack, the teens are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two others who were adopted sixteen years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them — the bite and blood of a werewolf.”
The series also stars Rodrigo Santoro (Lost) as Garrett Briggs, “a Los Angeles park ranger dedicated to protecting the environment, and adoptive father to the remarkable teenagers. A man of strong values, he is also someone with dark secrets and deep suspicions, especially towards anyone questioning the relationship with his children who were found in the wildfire years earlier.”
The other main characters are played by Armani Jackson (Chad) as Everett, Bella Shepard (The Wilds) as Blake, Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna, and Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan.
The rest of the cast includes Bailey Stender (iCarly), Chase Liefeld (Chang Can Dunk), Hollie Bahar (Westworld), Lanny Joon (Baby Driver), Rio Mangini (Everything Sucks), Stella Smith (Stargirl), Zack Nelson (Loot) and James Martinez (Love, Victor). Other guest stars will include Amy Pietz (Caroline in the City), Bria Brimmer (Doom Patrol), John L. Adams (The Dead Zone) and Sean Philip Glasgow (Diary of a Future President).
It was also announced that the series will premiere on Paramount+ on Thursday, January 26th.
