SAW XI Will Be Directed by SAW X Director Kevin Greutert

Lonsgate’s long-running Saw horror franchise is going to continue with Saw XI and Saw X director Kevin Greutert is returning to the franchise to helm it. Greutert also directed both Saw VI in 2009 and later Saw: The Final Chapter in 2010, which obviously was really the final chapter. He also helmed horror movies Jessabelle in 2014 and Jackals more recently in 2017.

No details have been revealed for the movie, but I liked the story for Saw X which told an interesting story set between the events of the first and second Saw films.

The writers of the past three films, Jigsaw, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and Saw X, will not be returning to write Saw XI. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger said they will be handing the reins off to a new writing team. Stolberg said: “Pete and I are sitting this chapter out. Very excited to see this one as a fan of the franchise. I think people will be pleased with the team.”

It’ll be interesting to see if the creative team for this movie will be able to come up with a fresh and unique new story. Good luck to them!
