Scarlet Witch Teased as Being More Powerful Than Doctor Strange in MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), has proved she is a powerful individual in the MCU and after the events of WandaVision her powers have been taken to the next level. The next time we see the character will be in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Strange comes to her for a little help with fixing the mess he made with the multiverse.

Could Scarlet Witch actually be more powerful than Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)? Well, during an interview with Empire MagazineDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer teased that she could be. Plamer explained:

"I don't know who's more powerful than Wanda. Meeting the Wanda Maximoff at the end of Endgame would have been a lot for Strange. Who comes out on top as the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe we find out at the end of the movie.

"Madness has many different definitions. It's maddening for Doctor Strange to have to watch the love of his life marry someone else. And it's maddening for Wanda to have been told, 'There's a book, and there's a chapter about you in that book you should read, and secrets you don't know about yourself.'"

This film will be the first time that Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange actually get to share some scenes together in a Marvel movie. In regards to that, Elizabeth Olsen said, "I really was excited to do dialogue with him. I really enjoyed our constant conversation, of analysis and trying to understand where both characters are coming from."

In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called ‘the Multiverse.’ To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong (Benedict Wong), the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange…

The movie also stars Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams, who will be back as Wong, Karl Mordo, and Christine Palmer, respectively. Xochitl Gomez has also joined the cast as America Chavez.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be in theaters on May 6th, 2022.
