Scarlett Johansson Says She Wishes BLACK WIDOW Could Have Explored Her Time With Hawkeye
Actress Scarlett Johansson kicked off her Marvel debut in 2010 when we first saw her in Iron Man 2. She was officially made a member of the squad two years later in the first Avengers movie, and we saw her story come to an end in Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
But her story was revisited when we went back in time in Black Widow, and we got to see her origin story, beginning with her upbringing, her family, and filling in the gaps of what happened to Natasha after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Some fans were hoping that we would see the story of Hawkeye and Black Widow’s infamous mission(s) in Budapest unfold, as it’s been alluded to in Avengers get togethers, but has never truly been told.
Johansson recently revealed that she had hoped to see that as well. When talking to MTV UK (via CBM) about the release of her recent animated hit film, Transformers One, Johansson admitted that she too would have liked to better explore Black Widow and Hawkeye's shared past.
"I probably would have gone further back in the Black Widow story. I would have loved to have seen the Hawkeye, Black Widow, some of that stuff. You see early parts of her life [not that origin]."
Unfortunately, the time to tell that story has arguably passed, though Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars at least open the door to a possible reunion for Johansson and Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner.
Would you still be open to seeing them reunite to tell that story?
