Scarlett Johansson Set to Star in a Genre-Bending Film Titled BRIDE
Scarlett Johansson is set to star in and produce a new “genre-bending” film titled Bride for Apple TV+ and A24. The film will be helmed by Sebastián Lelio (A Fantastic Woman, Disobedience, Gloria) from a script that he’s writing with Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.
The story follows “a woman created to be an ideal wife — the singular obsession of a brilliant entrepreneur. When she rejects her creator, she’s forced to flee her confined existence, confronting a world that sees her as a monster. It is on the run that she finds her true identity, her surprising power, and the strength to remake herself as her own creation.”
That certainly sounds like the kind of interesting film project that Johansson would be interested in involving herself with. I’m sure you could tell that the plot has similarities to Frankenstein.
Johansson will next be seen in the highly-anticipated and long-delayed Black Widow movie which is set to be released on May 7, 2021.
