SCREAM 5 Adds THE BOYS Actor Jack Quaid to the Cast
The Boys actor Jack Quaid is the latest actor to join the cast of Paramount Pictures upcoming Scream 5. He joins franchise cast members David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who are reprising their roles as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers. The cast also includes Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) and Jenna Ortega (You).
Neve Campbell, who portrayed Sidney Prescott in the franchise, is still in talks to join, and everyone involved hopes that she comes back.
Scream 5 is being directed by Ready or Not filmmakers Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. They are directing from a script written by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not).
All we know about the story for the sequel at this point is that “it will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes.” There’s no word on who Quaid will be playing in the film.
Scream creator Kevin Williamson is on board as an executive producer and the film, and when talking about it he said:
“I’m excited to reteam with David and work with Jamie, Guy and Radio Silence on the next Scream. Their take on the movie is both original, inventive and honors Wes’ legacy in a wonderful way. Ready or Not was my favorite horror film of last year and I can’t wait to see what their amazing talents bring to the Scream universe. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
The next Scream film will debut in theaters over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend on January 14th, 2022.
