Sculptor Perfectly Recreates Johnny Depp's Twisted FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS Head From the Poster
Artist Kevin Kirkpatrick, who has worked on films like The Avengers, Sucker Punch, Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, must be a huge fan of the 1998 movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, because he's sculpted this spot-on recreation of Johnny Depp's twisted visage from the movie's poster. He talked about the project in an interview with Creators:
"I just wanted people to think about what it was they were looking at," Kirkpatrick says. "When I first made the piece, I posted photos and people would ask me why I posted a photo of the poster. It's not until they looked closer that they realized that it was a 3D art piece that they were used to seeing in two dimensions. I took on a challenge with a very limited time constraint, which quite nearly drove me crazy due to lack of sleep. But it's been one of my favorite projects."
In addition to matching the physicality of this piece down to the tiniest detail, Kirkpatrick also went the extra mile and made the glasses by hand. Pretty incredible, huh?
