Sean Bean's Cult Series THE FRANKENSTEIN CHRONICLES Lands at Netflix
Sean Bean's cult hit series The Frankenstein Chronicles is coming to the U.S. thanks to Netflix, who just picked up the distribution rights! According to Variety, the streaming service has picked up the two six-episode seasons that exist and will run them as a Netflix Original in the U.S.
I've heard some great things about this show, so I'm excited that I'll be able to check it out on Netflix in the near future!
The Frankenstein Chronicles is a re-imagining of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. Set in 1830s London, Bean (“Game of Thrones”) plays John Marlott, a war veteran and river policeman. Season 1 of the serialized show sees him investigating the case of a corpse made up of body parts from different children, and finding the matter involves senior establishment figures and demonic forces.
The series, which is produced in the UK by Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones) premiered in 2015 and has been playing on ITV’s Encore channel in the U.K. but the British broadcaster is closing the linear service down.
Here's a trailer for the series that will give you an idea of what's in store in case you're not familiar with it. If you are from the U.K. and you have seen the show, what are your thoughts on it!?
