Sean Gunn Says James Gunn Will Allow Him to Say Maxwell Lord Will Return More Than Once in DCU - But Not Where or When

Sean Gunn is no stranger to the comic book genre. He has played several characters across Marvel and DC, and his most recent undertaking is that of the DC comics character Maxwell Lord, who he has played in the film Superman and the series Peacemaker.

Maxwell Lord is known as a wealthy, manipulative businessman and former Justice League organizer the Comics who later becomes a powerful supervillain.

While there are quite a few DC projects coming up, Sean Gunn hasn’t been confirmed to return in any of them yet. He gave a vague update though, confirming his return in a recent interview on The Brandon Davis Show, where he explained:

"I've also gotten the okay to say... I text my brother, I'm like, 'What can I say and what can't I say?' And we will be seeing Maxwell Lord again... more than once. But I am not allowed to say where or when, but that character has been a part of what I've been sort of working on, and I love playing that character."

The next DC project for fans to check out is Clayface, which hits theaters on October 23. Lanterns continues on HBO every Sunday. The Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow hits theatres on July 9, 2027.

The Untitled Woman Woman movie and the series The People v. Gorilla Grodd are also in varied stages of production.
