Season 1 of WHAT IF...? Will Solely Focus on Stories From INFINITY SAGA
Look, if you would have told me that at their San Diego Comic-Con panel Marvel would announce a series for Disney+ based on the What If…? comics, I wouldn’t have believed you. Now that it has actually happened, I am probably one of the most excited fans out there. I have at least a dozen What If…? comics in my collection and they are some of my all time favorites.
In talking with ScreenRant, president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige gave a little more info on the upcoming animated series. He said:
Right now, we’re focusing on for the first season, everything you know about the 23 movies in the Infinity Saga and adding one twist to them and seeing how everything turns out different.
As an added bonus to the whole situation is that Jeffrey Wright is going to be taking on the role of The Watcher who will serve as the series version of Rod Serling and narrate each episode. The cast is full of actors from the first 23 movies. They will star Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Michael B. Jordan, Sebastian Stan, Natalie Portman, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Chadwick Boseman, Hayley Atwell, Michael Rooker, Michael Douglas, Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Renner, Jeff Goldblum, Taika Waititi, Toby Jones, Djimon Hounsou, Neal McDonough, Dominic Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chris Sullivan and David Dastmalchain.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the comic book run, What If…? was a series where little changes were made to famous storylines in the comics to see what would happen. Like I said before, it was one of my favorite comic series and I tried to collect as many as I could.
Disney+ will be launched November 12th of this year and will encompass every Disney property. It will contain every Disney movie ever made (with the exception of one, we don’t talk about that) plus every show. It will also include Fox, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar. I can’t wait to subscribe, I would do it right now if I could.
Are you excited about this series? Let us know what you think.
