SeaWorld Turning Their Southern California Aquatica Location Into Sesame Street Themed Park

SeaWorld is bringing an update to their Southern California Aquatica location in the form of a Sesame Street makeover. This will be SeaWorld’s first Sesame Place location on the west coast. The LATimes reported that “the ‘Sesame Street’-themed park will feature tame roller coasters, carousels and other family-friendly rides; the street made famous on TV; a parade; live shows; and character interactions, among other things,” according to Marilyn Hannes, park president of SeaWorld San Diego.

The PBS character-themed park will span 17 acres, and will incorporate many of the existing water attractions into the new park, mainly those aimed for younger children.

My kids have always loved the Sesame Street themed area of SeaWorld, aimed at smaller children, so I think it’s very cool that they are expanding to a whole park. Sesame Street has been on the air for fifty years, and still holds up with new fans being born every day, so this will draw a big crowd and be a lot of fun.

Are you excited for the expanse?
