Sebastian Stan Doesn't Think He'll Be Able To Stay in Shape To Play Bucky in The MCU
For over a decade, we’ve watched Sebastian Stan grow into his role as Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier, from his early days in Captain America: The First Avenger to the upcoming Thunderbolts*. But as Stan recently admitted, maintaining that superhero physique is becoming more of a challenge for him
While promoting Thunderbolts* on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Stan was reminded of his physical peak during Captain America: The Winter Soldier, thanks to a shirtless photo.
His reaction was: “The good old days. Still trying to get back to that shape. I don’t know if it’s gonna work out at 42 years old.”
I’m not so sure abiout that, though, look at Hugh Jackman! The guy’s 56 and still manages to get ridiculously ripped as Wolverine. If he can do it, Stan absolutely can, too.
But here’s the catch: you have to want it. Maybe Stan is ready to leave those grueling training sessions behind him, and if that’s the case, who can blame him?!
But for anyone doubting what’s possible after 40, let me tell you: it’s not about age, it’s about mindset. Sure, it gets harder, but with the right effort, the right drive, it’s still within reach.
