Second Trailer for RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY Offers Up New Footage
There is a second trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. We don’t get a lot of new information about the movie from it, but it does show a few different scenes, like Claire hitchhiking with the trucker who hits the zombie from the beginning of Resident Evil 2.
They have apparently made Claire from Raccoon City, and while this deviates from the games, it makes for an interesting raising of the stakes for Claire. I can’t imagine the horror of arriving in an unknown town to find it infested with zombies; it would be so much worse to have that happen to your home town.
This does make it make more sense that Claire would be looking into Umbrella and their nefarious schemes and how she would have some contacts in Raccoon City already. I’m a little disappointed we haven’t seen much of Ada or Leon yet, but I am hopeful that maybe Claire will finally get to do something in a Resident Evil movie.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City takes place on a fateful night in Raccoon City in 1998, “once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.”
The movie was directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night), and the cast includes Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, and Avan Jogia, with Donal Logue and Neal McDonough.
What do you think of this other trailer? Are you excited for the movie?
