See How The Purge All Began in Trailer For THE FIRST PURGE

Universal Pictures has released a trailer for their new film The First Purge, which will show us how the Purge began and what the very first Purge night was like. People started dressing up like crazy lunatics on the first night! You'd think that is something that would have evolved over time, but nope. On night one people had their murder costumes all ready to go. I've surprisingly enjoyed this franchise and because I'm curious to see how the Purge started, I'll be checking out this latest film.

Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

The First Purge was written by franchise creator James DeMonaco and was directed by Gerard McMurray (Burning Sands). It stars Marisa Tomei, Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, and Luna Lauren Velez.
