See THE MATRIX in the Most Immersive Shared Experience
While at CinemaCon every year, we expect to see the upcoming slates for all of the upcoming movies that will be released in the next year, but we also get to see what advances have been made in the movie industry.
Even with us only being in the first hours of the convention, we are already seeing some pretty amazing things. If you can believe it, some of this news involves The Matrix. Yes, the movie that was released 26 years ago, and I can’t freaking wait.
This morning it was announced that Warner Bros. and the venue company Cosm have made a multi-film partnership to bring us a “shared reality” experience that we have never had before. This partnership will be kicked off with the 1999 film The Matrix.
The company Little Cinema is taking on the monumental task of formatting The Matrix to be shown in such a way, and I am glad they did it.
From what we have heard, the presale tickets for the showings, which start on June 6th, will go live in mid April, with no price range given. I am assuming that it won’t be cheap, but what once in a lifetime audio/visual assault on your senses that will blow your mind and change your view on what going to the movies is, would be cheap?
There are a ton of gimmicks that theaters have been using over the years to give us a “new experience” way of enjoying our favorite movies. A lot of them just kind of make you roll your eyes and move on with your life. What Cosm has brought to the thrill of going to the movies is a near complete immersive experience. I am going to add a videos from the company’s Instagram so you can kind of get a feel of what I am talking about.
However, what better way to excite movie fans then giving them what they really want? To actually be inside The Matrix! With what The Dome in Las Vegas has done for the entertainment industry, it was only a matter of time for the movie industry to follow suit. I am pretty stoked to see how well this brings us to actually being inside the movies that we watch.
What do you think about this as an advancement in the movie going experience?
