Sega Announces New Mobile Game HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!
Sega and Colorful Palette have announced Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! A new mobile rhythm and visual novel game featuring global hit Hatsune Miku along with five original bands set to release in 2021 for iOS and Android devices.
Players will get to meet 20 original characters divided into 5 different bands, each with their own unique backstory and sound. In addition, we will see some of Miku’s virtual singer friends including Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO, and MEIKO.
It will feature some of Miku’s current hits as well as all new music written just for the game. You will be able to level up and then use a gacha system to unlock additional character cards. One unique thing about this game is fans will be able to attend virtual live performances featuring their favorite band and online events will be held that will unlock rewards such as unique stamps in game. Shingo Kosuge, Producer at SEGA Games Co., said:
“I’ve been a fan of Hatsune Miku from the very start, and have observed the global phenomenon of the growth of her fanbase and community. We’ve created a new immersive experience with Hatsune Miku offering her fans, as well as fans of anime and Japanese culture, to engage and experience her music. It will be a thrill for us to watch how people respond to the musical performances and fun gameplay challenges that we’re creating.”
Yuichiro Kondo, Producer at Colorful Palette, said:
“I hope that the game will spread the vast cultural world of Hatsune Miku and Virtual Singers to new audiences. Please enjoy the new interpretation of Miku and the story of discovering your music. We look forward to playing Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE! with you.”
Even if you’re not an existing Miku fan, this game sounds really fun. I enjoy rhythm games a lot but haven’t gotten into a lot of the mobile ones because I don’t generally like the music they come loaded with (probably because I usually only try free ones), but this seems like it will have more solid music to play to. Will you check this game out on release?
