SEGA Tells Xbox Series S SONIC FRONTIERS Players to Change Console Settings for 60FPS
Sonic Frontiers just released, and while critics aren’t terribly impressed with it, users seem to be loving it. However, there appears to be a subsection of gamers that are getting the short end of the stick when it comes to performance. For some reason, Xbox Series S gamers have been reporting online that they are stuck playing the game at 30 frames per second! For a game designed and marketed around speed and smooth gameplay, this is a huge bummer. Enough noise was made that TheGamer reached out to SEGA for comment and were given a suggested workaround while the team reported looks into the issue.
The workaround suggested is certainly not ideal. If your TV runs at 4K, you may have to go into your Xbox Series S settings, find TV & Display Options, and change the setting to run at 1080p. SEGA says that this should let Series S players to enjoy the game at 60 fps. It is sad to hear that this problem is a thing. Hopefully, the Sonic Frontiers team is able to get this addressed so that it’s not so cumbersome for gamers. Are you loving Sonic Frontiers? If you play on Series S, have you run into this problem and found this workaround to work?
