I don’t know about you, but ever since the classic Seinfeld series left Hulu, I’ve been having Seinfeld withdrawals. Also right when the show ended, my kids started to show interest in watching it, and then it was gone. They’ve been going through a bunch of ‘90s shows recently and have been hooked on Friends for a while, so I was happy to see they were ready to jump into Seinfeld!

I knew that it would eventually come back to Netflix since they own all things Seinfeld now. They acquired the rights to the show back in 2019, but there was no word on when it would return… until today. Netflix has announced that all 180 episodes of the comedy series will launch on October 1st!

Jerry Seinfeld joked in a statement:

“Larry [David] and I are enormously grateful to Netflix for taking this chance on us. It takes a lot of guts to trust two schmucks who literally had zero experience in television when we made this thing. We really got carried away, I guess. I didn’t realize we made so many of them. Hope to recoup god knows how many millions it must have taken to do. But worth all the work if people like it. Crazy project.”

Seinfeld played a fictional version of himself in the series, and he starred alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, and Jason Alexander. The show centered around four friends living in New York City as they lament life, struggle with romantic relationships and get into sticky and hilarious situations.

Seinfeld is one of my all-time favorite comedy series and the comedy in it never gets old! I’ll be looking forward to finally being able to watch it again. Enjoy this little promo spot.
