Seth Gordon to Direct UNCHARTED

Movie Uncharted by Joey Paur

Sony Pictures is currently in negotiations with director Seth Gordon to direct the big screen adaptation of the popular video game franchise Uncharted. This is a very unexpected choice as Gordon is know for directing films such a Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief, and his first film, King of Kong. This is a very different kind of film for the director, and I hope he has what it takes to pull it off.

This project has been in the works for years, and David O. Russell (American Hustle) was the last director attached to it. I can only imagine how incredible that film would have been, but maybe Gordon will give it the awesome adaptation that it deserves. The most recent script for the film was written by Safe House scribe David Guggenheim, who is currently writing Bad Boys 3.

The casting of Nathan Drake should be an interesting process. Mark Wahlberg was once attached, but I doubt that will happen at this point. The story follows "the treasure and antiquities hunter and descendant of the famed explorer Sir Francis Drake. With a female journalist and his mentor by his side, Drake attempts to find the lost treasure of El Dorado."

Who do would you like to see in the role of Drake? Do you think Gordon is a good choice as a director?
