Seth Rogen Producing VIDEO NASTY A Horror Film about Teens Who Rent a Cursed Video Tape
Lionsgate has picked up a spec script for a horror film titled Video Nasty for Seth Rogen’s Point Grey and Greg Silverman’s Stampede Ventures to produce.
The story centers on three teens “who rent a cursed VHS and are pulled into an ’80s slasher movie that threatens to trap them forever.” The plot seems similar to the ‘90s action film Last Action Hero, but with an emphasis on ‘80s horror. This is a fun concept that should make for an entertaining flick!
The script was written by Chris Thomas Devlin, and the director of 50/50 and Warm Bodies, Jonathan Levine, is looking to possibly helm and produce the film.
I’m pretty sure my friends and I rented cursed VHS tapes while growing up in the ‘90s. We rented any and every horror movie that we could get our hands on and there are some crazy weird things that happened on some of those nights. There are some freaky memories that are seared into my brain.
Anyway, I like the concept of this movie, It’s definitely the type of film that I’d enjoy watching.
