SEX AND THE CITY Spinoff Series AND JUST LIKE THAT Officially Renewed for Season 2 at HBO

HBO’s Sex and the City spinoff series And Just Like That has been officially renewed for a second season. This comes as no surprise considering the show’s Season 1 success and the buzz it created week to week, for better or worse. The series showrunner, Michael Patrick King, said in a statement:

“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters — played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just like That … our Sex life is back.”

HBO also confirmed the return of the series stars and executive producers Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

Sarah Aubrey, the head of original content at HBO Max, said of the renewal:

“We have been delighted by the cultural conversation generated by these characters and their stories, set in a world we already know and love so much. We are proud of the work Michael Patrick King and our wonderful writers, producers, cast and crew have done to bring these stories to the screen. We can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for Season 2!”

Season 1 left off with a lot of story to build on, so it will be interesting to see what comes next for Carrie and her new podcast (and new love interest), as well as her new friendship with Seema (Sarita Choudhury); Miranda and Che (Sara Ramirez) - possibly the most hated character on television; and Charlotte and her ever-changing family and new friend, played by Nicole Ari Parker.
