SHADDOLL SHOWDOWN May Be the Best YU-GI-OH! Structure Deck For Anyone
Konami was kind enough to send me a copy of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Shaddoll Showdown Structure Deck. It’s incredible! The deck plays ok by itself and if you spend a little money to get three copies, you’ve got a fantastic budget deck. The reprints of Super Polymerization, Instant Fusion, and Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning among many others gives this deck instant value even if you don’t plan on running Shaddolls.
Combine that with the new Shaddoll support like Reeshaddoll Wendi and there’s no questioning how popular this deck is going to be. Reeshaddoll Wendi lets you quickly bring your other Shaddoll’s out to play and is key. The vast number of Fusion Monsters you get also opens up a lot of possibilities from the start.
The number one problem with Shaddoll Showdown is the Link Monster Shaddoll Construct. It has two arrows that point to the right and left which isn’t bad except it’s the only Link Monster in the Structure Deck which means you can’t use it to bring your Fusion Monsters out except as material. Of course, with Master Rule 5 on its way in April that won’t be as big of a deal, but for the next month, it’s going to slow things down without some extra help from cards like Cross-Sheep.
All-in-all, Shaddoll Showdown is a fantastic Structure Deck, especially if you’re wanting to just try the game as a new player or returning player. You can even find a lot of budget deck build profiles using this deck as the base.
