Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall Star in Trailer for Sci-Fi Comedy ROBOTS
A new trailer and poster have been released for the sci-fi comedy Robots, starring Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars, Big Little Lies) and Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise, The Afterparty), as well as Emanuela Postacchini, Chelsea Edmundson, and Richard Lippert. The film was co-written and co-directed by up-and-coming filmmakers Anthony Hines (co-writer of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) and Casper Christensen (Danish comedian who co-wrote the cult comedy Klown). The screenplay is based on a short story by Robert Sheckley.
The film follows Elaine (Woodley), a gold digger, and Charles (Whitehall), a womanizer, who each have robot versions of themselves that they use to take advantage of others. The duo learn humanity when forced to team up and pursue the robot doubles of themselves, who’ve fallen in love and run away together.
This looks really silly and like it could be a lot of fun. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch Robots in select US theaters and on VOD this summer.
