Shailene Woodley Joins Hulu’s PARADISE Season 2 in Major Role

Hulu’s wild and gripping political thriller Paradise is turning up the heat for Season 2, and it just landed a major star. Shailene Woodley is officially joining the cast in a significant recurring role in the acclaimed series from creator Dan Fogelman (This Is Us).

Details about Woodley’s character are under wraps, but sources say her storyline will be deeply connected to Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown), whose mission took a sharp turn in the Season 1 finale. Word is, she’ll be playing a key survivor, someone pivotal to the expansion of the story.

If you missed Season 1, Paradise is set in an ultra-exclusive, seemingly idyllic community filled with global power players, the kind of place where nothing ever goes wrong… until the President of the United States is murdered.

This event cracks the façade wide open. What follows is a high-stakes investigation that uncovers much more than just a killer.

I’ve enjoyed the hell out of the show, and it was not what I was expecting it to be! The show made a big splash during its first season on Hulu, frequently hitting the No. 1 spot in the U.S. and streaming internationally on Disney+. Now, it’s heading to network TV with a broadcast run on ABC starting April 7th, airing Mondays at 10pm.

The series already boasts a stacked ensemble with Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV.

As for Woodley, she just wrapped her Broadway debut in Leslye Headland’s Cult of Love alongside Zachary Quinto and Barbie Ferreira, and finished shooting the film Motor City with director Potsy Ponciroli. You also may have seen her recently in Amazon MGM’s Killer Heat and the Starz series Three Women.
