Shailene Woodley Set to Star in Serial Killer Thriller MISANTHROPE
Shailene Woodley (The Descendants, Big Little Lies) has been cast in the upcoming Damian Szifron-directed film, Misanthrope, a serial killer thriller about a “talented but troubled cop who is recruited by the FBI to help profile and track down a murderer.” Here’s what Woodley had to say to Variety about her involvement in the film:
“Screenplays like ‘Misanthrope,’ that are this well executed both in theme and tone, are rare to come by with a director like Damian behind the wheel,” said Woodley. “I have complete trust we will create something that will have a profound impact on cinema and will resonate with audiences, especially given the times we are living in right now. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this team.”
The movie will begin filming in Atlanta this year, and we should hear additional casting info soon, as the ball is rolling. I think this sounds like a movie I will be really interested in. I love Woodley, and I’m a total murderino, so it will be cool to find out more and check it out when it comes to theaters, I’m assuming next year.
