Shailene Woodley to Star Opposite Jack Whitehall in Comedy ROBOTS From BORAT Writer Anthony Hines
Shailene Woodley (The Descendants, Big Little Lies) has signed on to star in the upcoming comedy Robots, opposite Jack Whitehall (Bad Education, Bounty Hunters). Borat writer Anthony Hines co-wrote the script with Casper Christensen (Klown), who will also co-direct. The pic is based on the short story by sci-fi writer Robert Sheckley.
Robots focuses on a womanizer (Whitehall) and a gold digger (Woodley) who learn humanity when forced to team up and pursue robot doubles of themselves, who have fallen in love and run away together.
Hines told Deadline about the casting:
“At a time when comedies are needed more than ever, I couldn’t be more delighted than to have Shailene and Jack team up to play the leads in this movie.”
This sounds like a fun and different comedy premise, so I am interested to see what they come up with.
