Shaq Gets Some Bad News From James Gunn and David Corenswet in Funny New SUPERMAN Promo

Basketball legend and sometimes actor Shaquille O’Neal is featured in a new TV spot for James Gunn’s Superman, in which he sizes up the superhero’s suit that’s encased in a display. He wonders aloud if James Gunn received his measurements, as the suit he’s looking at does not look like it will fit his 7’1” stature.

The film’s actual star, David Corenswet, shows up to meet the basketball player, and when Shaq doesn’t get the hint, James Gunn appears to clear the air. It seems as though he felt like he could have played the role of Clark Kent, and he even has Corenswet rooting for him by the end.

It’s a great little featurette, and it gives us another look at our Superman actor who will lead the charge in DC’s new chapter. Check it out below, and watch Superman when it’s released in theatERs on July 11, 2025.
