Sharlto Copley (District 9, Powers) has been cast in the second season of Netflix’s popular mystery dramedy series Russian Doll. He will join the previously announced Season 2 cast members, Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek) and Carolyn Michelle Smith (Colony).

The series stars Natasha Lyonne as a New York woman named Nadia who becomes caught in an endless loop of attending her own birthday party only to die and repeat the night over and over again. The first season also starred Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley, and Charlie Barnett. Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Brendan Sexton III, Rebecca Henderson, Jeremy Bobb, Ritesh Rajan, and Jocelyn Bioh also appeared in guest-starring roles.

No details have been revealed about the storyline for Russian Doll Season 2 and we also have no details to share regarding the characters that the actors will be playing. Season 1 was great, though, and I’m sure the second season will be just as good.

I’m especially excited about Copley joining the cast. He’s always fun to watch in the projects that he’s a part of. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of character he’ll end up playing.

Russian Doll Season 1 was created and executive produced by Lyonne alongside Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and Leslye Headland (Sleeping with Other People).
