SHAUN OF THE DEAD Is Getting a 20th Anniversary Re-Release and Here's a Trailer

Focus Features has announced that they will be re-releasing Edgar Wright’s classic zombie comedy Shawn of the Dead in theaters for its 20th anniversary, and we have a trailer and poster to share with you!

Wright said in a statement: "Twenty years ago, the worldwide release of Shaun of the Dead changed my life forever. Its reception since then has continued to be incredible, largely due to the passionate fans who have championed it with cricket bats aloft.

“Now, as we celebrate its bloody 20th anniversary with a brand-new Dolby Atmos and Vision remastered version, I’m beyond excited for everyone to experience it once again on the big screen—the way it was always meant to be seen: large, loud, and with quite a lot of red on it."

The announcement reads: “20 Bloody Years!! Get ready for a gut-busting, bone-mashing good time in the hilarious horror comedy, Shaun of the Dead.

“There comes a day in every man's life when he has to get off the couch…and kill some zombies. When flesh-eating zombies are on the hunt for a bite to eat, it's up to slacker Shaun (Simon Pegg) and his best pal (Nick Frost) to save their friends and family from becoming the next entree.

“Satisfy your bloodthirsty appetite with the movie that masters of horror and film critics alike are hailing as the funniest and scariest movie of the year.”

The movie stars Simon Pegg as Shaun, Nick Frost as Ed, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Bill Nighy, Dylan Moran, Penelope Wilton, Jessica Stevenson, Peter Serafinowicz, and Rafe Spall.

Focus Features will re-release the film on August 30th, 2024.
