SHAZAM! Director David F. Sandberg Set to Helm a Religious Horror Thriller Titled THE CULLING
David F. Sandberg, the director behind Shazam!, Lights Out, and Annabelle: Creation, is set to helm another horror film titled The Culling.
The movie is a religious horror-thriller that follows “a troubled priest who confines himself to a remote cabin in the middle of the woods where he attempts to make a last stand against the demon that terrorized his family when he was a child.”
This seems like a great project for Sandberg to take on. As you’ve seen in the short horror films that he’s made, he’s great at building tension and telling stories in isolated locations. Lights Out, Shadowed, and Not Alone in Here are perfect examples.
Sandberg is also currently developing the DC film Shazam! 2. It’s great to see that Sandberg is making another horror movie. I assume that Sandburg will make The Culling before he gets to Shazam! 2, but that has yet to be confirmed.
