SHAZAM! Has Completed Filming

It’s official! Shazam! has ended it’s filming. Director David F. Sandberg made the announcement at the end of last week, saying:

He’s got just under a year to get the post-production done, and I’m genuinely excited. Maybe it’s just my love for Zachary Levi, but I think the film has a lot of potential. Hopefully, DC and Warner Bros have gotten their acts together to create great movies. In addition to the filming coming to a close, Levi took to Instagram to announce that all of the toys from the movie will be donated to non-profit organizations around Toronto (where the film was shot).

DC does not have the best track record, but between Aquaman (December 21, 2018) and Shazam! I hope that they can become more consistent. Do you think DC will ever get to the point of making consistently good films or are they stuck with one good film every now and then?

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Shazam! Will be released to theaters April 5, 2019.
