SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Season 2 Could Still Happen as Disney and Marvel Reevaluates Projects
Earlier this week, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany, commented on Season 2 saying she didn’t think it was going to happen, saying: "I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like 'no thanks.'" She seemed to make it pretty clear that we wouldn’t see a second season of the Marvel series.
Now, a new report from io9 has offered an update saying that the series isn’t necessarily dead after all. The report explains: "Maslany's comments are basically accurate, just lacking some context. That context is when CEO Bob Iger returned to Disney and changed much of Marvel’s direction, everything was reevaluated."
The report goes on to say: "So while Marvel works everything out, it’s not that a second season of She-Hulk has been completely abandoned. It just seems less likely than not at the moment."
So, basically, Marvel and Disney are still in the process of figuring out what projects they want to move forward with and what projects to abandon and She-Hulk isn’t definitively off the table… yet. But, the series did cause an upheaval at Disney as Iger was "apoplectic" about the big widespread VFX issues with Marvel when he returned to take charge of Disney. The She-Hulk VFX issues in particular were said to be a “symptom of a deeper rot — namely a lack of oversight on script development.” Those scripts were described as being “half-baked.”
As for Maslany’s comment about blowing their budget, It was also revealed that a single episode of She-Hulk cost $25 million to produce. I’ll be surprised if Marvel moves forward with a second season, but io9 is giving fans of the show hope that it might actually happen. We’ll just have to wait and see!
If Marvel does move forward with a second season, they will surely cut back on the budget. Do you think Marvel will move forward with a She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 2?
