She-Ra Jumps Into Action in Full Trailer For SHE-RA AND THE PRINCESSES OF POWER
The full trailer has been released for DreamWorks Animation's new She-Ra and The Princesses of Power animated series. As you’ll see, this series was made for a whole new generation of kids. This really isn’t for anyone who grew up with the old badass cartoons of the 80s. But, I’m sure it will find a new young audience that will embrace and enjoy. But, I do have to say that my 10-year-old daughter rolled her eyes at this and isn’t impressed.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is the story of an orphan named Adora, who leaves behind her former life in the evil Horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into the mythical warrior princess She-Ra. Along the way, she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil.
The series has been described as a modern take on the ‘80s girl power icon for a new generation of young fans. It's being developed by Eisner Award-winning author and executive producer Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona) and executive producer Chuck Austen (Dawn of the Croods, Steven Universe).
She-Ra stars the voice cast of Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor) as She-Ra, Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) as Glimmer, Marcus Scribner (black-ish) as Bow, and AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs) as Catra. It also stars Grey’s Anatomy alum Sandra Oh, Orange Is the New Black‘s Lorraine Toussaint, black-ish‘s Marcus Scribner, Dancing With the Stars champ Jordan Fisher, and Young & Hungry‘s Aimee Carrero.
The series is set to premiere on Netflix on November 16th. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think of the first footage that has been released.
