Sherlock Holmes Has Been Completely Reimagined in This Trailer For HBO's Japanese Series MISS SHERLOCK

HBO has released the first trailer for their upcoming Japanese series Miss Sherlock, which give us a completely new re-imagining of the classic character Sherlock Holmes. The latest vision of the iconic detective comes in the form of a modern day a British-born Japanese woman and she is played by The Ring star Yuko Takeuchi.

We've seen a lot of different versions of Holmes over the years, and this one looks like it could be seriously great! The trailer starts off with a comedic tone, but then it takes a dark turn. This looks like it will tell some crazy intense stories filled with all kinds of unpredictable twists and turns. I love what I'm seeing in this first trailer and I'm totally in!

Here is the official synopsis for Miss Sherlock:

The show follows the British-born Miss Sherlock Holmes to Japan, where she meets Dr. Wato Tachibana, a surgeon who has just returned from a medical mission in Syria. The two women spark a friendship and become partners in solving peculiar, perplexing crimes. MISS SHERLOCK retains the essential qualities of Sherlock Holmes, as the investigators employ insightful observation and reasoning skills in their new incarnation as strong women.

Miss Sherlock will be available to HBO’s U.S. subscribers across on September 1, 2018.
