Sherlock's Martin Freeman to Star in FARGO TV Series

Sherlock and Hobbit star Martin Freeman has been perfectly cast in the lead role in the upcoming Fargo TV series. He will play Lester Nygaard, the pathetic character portrayed by William H. Macy in Joel and Ethan Coen's 1996 feature film. He will star along side Billy Bob Thornton, who is playing Lorne Malvo, "the rootless, manipulative man who meets a small-town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction."

This is a limited 10-episode series that is being produced by the Coen Brothers, and it will "follow an all-new 'true crime' story with a new case and characters all seeped in the humor, murder and 'Minnesota nice' of the original." The fact that the Coens are involved gives me hope that the series will be just as fun, dark, and entertaining as the film was. Then, of course, Freeman is going to be awesome in it!
