SHIN KAMEN RIDER Comes to U.S. Theaters for One Night in May

Kamen Rider is a popular Japanese tokusatsu series and the latest film in the franchise, Shin Kamen Rider, is making its U.S. debut! Fathom Events has partnered Toei Company to bring Hideaki Anno’s (Neon Genesis Evangelion) film to theaters in the United States for a one-night event. Shin Kamen Rider is a celebration of 50 years of the franchise and was cowritten by Anno and is said to be packed with easter eggs and references spanning the entire history of Kamen Rider. Sosuke Ikematsu and Minami Hamabe star in the film as Takeshi Hongo and Ruriko.

The film stars Sosuke Ikematsu as Takeshi Hongo, a young motorcyclist whose life is turned upside down when he is kidnapped by the Sustainable Happiness Organization with Computational Knowledge Embedded Remodeling (SHOCKER) cult. Newly-transformed into a mutant cyborg, Hongo escapes from SHOCKER with help from Ruriko—vowing to exact his vengeance against the cult and finally put a stop to their sinister plans for global domination.

Tickets for Shin Kamen Rider will be available to purchase starting May 5 through Fathom’s website. The movie will be screened on May 31 at 7 PM local time and you can check out a trailer for the film below.
