SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI V and More Reveals from Nintendo Direct Mini

Nintendo fans were caught off guard a little when Nintendo announced yesterday that there would be a Nintendo Direct Mini this morning. The gaming showcase was labeled as a partner showcase meant to show off some upcoming titles from Nintendo’s partners and not their own titles (sorry Zelda and Metroid fans).

The first announcement was of three upcoming DLC packs for Cadence of Hyrule. The rhythm-based action game is a lot of fun and now players will have the opportunity to play as new characters like Impa, Aria, Shadow Link, Shadow Zelda, and Frederick. I’ll be honest, I don’t know who Aria and Frederick are. If you do, please let me know in the comments. The second DLC pack will bring 39 new songs and melodies from FamilyJules, A_Rival, and Chipzel. The third is called Symphony of the Mask and brings a new story element to it and allows you to play as Skull Kid who is able to change his abilities based on what mask he’s wearing. The first pack is available today while the others will launch before the end of October. You can also purchase a Season Pass that will give you instant access to each pack as it launches as well as additional costumes for Link and Zelda. Finally, On October 23, the game will be launching in what appears to be a physical version that will contain the base game and all 3 DLC packs.

Next, it was revealed that Hi-Rez Studios’ title Rogue Company is now available on the Nintendo Switch. The game is a third person tactical action shooter that lets you play as one of their distinct elite agents and show that you’re the best out there. Meanwhile, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 18.

Finally, Atlus showed off trailers for Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster and Shin Megami Tensei V for the Nintendo Switch. These look fantastic and I think fans are going to be really excited. SMT III will release in Spring 2021 while SMT V will have a simultaneous worldwide release sometime in 2021.
