Showtime Officially Renews Dexter: Resurrection for Season 2 - “The Story Continues”

Everyone’s favorite dark passenger is coming back for more. Showtime has officially renewed Dexter: Resurrection for a second season, with Michael C. Hall returning once again as Dexter Morgan.

The news came straight from Hall himself, who shared the update in a video announcement, saying, “We’ve been greenlit for another season. There’s more to come. The writers’ room is assembling now. Details will be forthcoming, but I wanted to be the first to let you know that the story continues.”

Dexter: Resurrection picks up just weeks after Dexter took a bullet to the chest from his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott). Miraculously surviving, he wakes from a coma to discover that Harrison has vanished without a trace.

Haunted by guilt and driven by the need for redemption, Dexter sets his sights on New York City, hoping to track down his son and mend the damage between them.

Of course, this is Dexter, and nothing is ever that simple. Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) shows up in the Big Apple with more questions than answers, forcing Dexter to confront the wreckage of his past.

As father and son navigate their own inner demons in a city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves tangled in something far darker than either expected.

Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection brought back familiar faces while introducing new ones to the killer universe. The series, a continuation of Dexter: New Blood, featured Uma Thurman as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.

We also saw James Remar reprise his role as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, alongside Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian as Lowell, Mia, Al, and Gareth.

With Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 officially on the way, fans can expect more blood, moral chaos, and complex father-son dynamics as Dexter Morgan’s story digs even deeper into the darkness. Showtime hasn’t released a premiere date yet.
