Showtime Renews BILLIONS For Season 6

I finally recently got caught up on the Showtime series Billions. This show is so damn good and such an enjoyable series to watch! So, I’m excited to report that Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) will continue their dance of trying to take each other down as a sixth season has been announced!

If you’re not familiar with the show, here’s the synopsis:

Wealth, influence and corruption collide in this drama set in New York. Shrewd U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is embroiled in a high-stakes game of predator vs. prey with Bobby Axelrod, an ambitious hedge-fund king. To date, Rhoades has never lost an insider trading case -- he's 81-0 -- but when criminal evidence turns up against Axelrod, he proceeds cautiously in building the case against Axelrod, who employs Rhoades' wife, psychiatrist Wendy, as a performance coach for his company. Wendy, who has been in her position longer than Chuck has been in his, refuses to give up her career for her husband's legal crusade against Axelrod. Both men use their intelligence, power and influence to outmaneuver the other in this battle over billions.

It was also reported that Corey Stoll, who guest-starred as Mike Prince, a social impact pioneer who poses a threat to Damian Lewis’ Axe’s dominance, has been promoted to series regular for Season 6.

There are still five more episodes to go for Season 5, but the financial thriller hasn’t been able to complete them because production shut down. When production starts back up for those five episodes, they will continue right into production on Season 6.

In season five, Axelrod and Paul Giamatti’s Chuck Rhoades “see their vicious rivalry reignited, while new enemies rise and take aim. Chuck feuds with a formidable district attorney, played by Roma Maffia. Taylor Mason, played by Asia Kate Dillon, is forced back to Axe Capital, where Taylor must fight to protect their employees and their assets. Wendy Rhoades, played by Maggie Siff, reevaluates her loyalties and forges surprising new alliances that put her at odds with both Chuck and Axe.”

Billions is created and executive produced by showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The series was co-created by Andrew Ross Sorkin. Are you excited that the series will be getting at least one more season?
