Showtime Renews BILLIONS for Season 7

Showtime has renewed its hit series Billions for Season 7. I’ve enjoyed this series since it first launched, but I’ll admit, Season 6 is losing me. It’s not holding my interest the same way previous seasons have.

Damian Lewis is what made that show as good as it was, so with him no longer in the series, there’s just this big void that’s been left. The series still stars Paul GiamattiCorey Stoll, Maggie Siff, and David Costabile as Wags, but their continuing stories aren’t holding me in there.

In Season 6 of Billions, “the dust of Season 5 clears to reveal a world that has evolved. With Axe (Lewis) gone and Michael Prince (Stoll) assuming his place, Chuck (Giamatti) must develop a new strategy that is keener and more sophisticated than before.”

The other players in the series, “Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon), Sacker (Condola Rashad) and of course Senior (Jeffrey DeMunn) must sharpen their weapons and look for new alliances in order to survive. The ground is ever-shifting and the stakes absolute. New king, new war, new rules.”

As Season 6 continues maybe it will end on a high note. While I’m not enjoying Season 6 as much as the previous seasons, I’m already invested, and I’ll see the show through to the end. Hopefully it gets better as it goes on.

The series is created and executive produced by showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Super Pumped, Rounders). Beth Schacter (Super Pumped) also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series was also created by Andrew Ross Sorkin.
