Shudder’s BLOODY TENNIS Trailer Turns an Elite Tennis Academy Into a Freaky Nightmare

Bloody Tennis is taking the fiercely competitive world of elite tennis and turning it into something seriously twisted.

Shudder has released the official trailer for filmmaker Nikias Chryssos’ indie horror movie, which recently premiered at the 2026 Locarno Film Festival and will hit the horror streaming service in September.

It looks like a wonderfully strange mix of sports drama, psychological horror, obsession, and whatever freaky business is happening inside this tennis academy.

The film stars Sandra Guldberg Kampp as Sophie, “a young woman who has been accepted into an elite tennis academy in the south of Europe. She soon begins to realise the school competitive spirit comes with increasingly sinister undercurrents as she questions if she’s willing to lose who she is to become the player she's always dreamed of.”

Sophie is entering an environment where ambition and obsession are beginning to blur together, and reaching the top could require sacrificing much more than she expected.

The cast also includes Elina Löwensohn, Tracy Gotoas, Helena Zengel, Zlatko Burić, Lily Taïeb, Juliana Vieira Guerra, Lucie Zhang, and Vincent Romeo.

Chryssos wrote and directed the film after previously helming The Bunker, A Pure Place, and Rave On, along with several short films. Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo produced the project.

Bloody Tennis made its premiere at the 2026 Locarno Film Festival, where it screened in the Fuori Concorso section. Horror fans won’t have to wait very long to see what kind of madness Chryssos has cooked up on the court.

Shudder will begin streaming Bloody Tennis on September 25th, 2026.
