Shudder's HELLCAT Trailer Teases a Twisted Supernatural Horror Mystery Starring Dakota Gorman
Shudder has unleashed the trailer for Hellcat, and it looks like horror fans are in for an intense ride. The supernatural survival thriller marks the feature directorial debut of Brock Bodell, and after making its premiere at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival, it's finally making its way to Shudder this August.
The film throws viewers into a nightmare almost immediately as Dakota Gorman stars as Lena, a woman who wakes up trapped inside the back of a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound she can't explain.
Things only get worse when the unseen driver tells her they have just one hour to get her to a doctor before something truly horrific happens. Of course, this being a horror movie, nothing is as straightforward as it first appears.
As whatever infected Lena begins taking over, reality starts slipping away, raising an unsettling question about who the real threat actually is. Is Lena simply a victim racing against the clock, or is everyone else the one in danger?
The official synopsis reads: "Lena (starring Dakota Gorman) wakes up terrified, trapped in the back of a camper trailer with a mysterious infection. She's warned by the driver that they have one hour to get to a doctor, or she’ll succumb to an unimaginably awful fate. But as the infection takes hold and reality begins to fray, who should really be afraid of who?"
The trailer doesn't reveal all of its secrets, but it definitely teases some kind of monstrous transformation. At first glance it looks like the story could be heading into werewolf territory, but with a title like Hellcat, maybe there's something even stranger waiting around the corner.
Whatever the creature ends up being, the movie looks packed with tension, paranoia, and some unsettling body horror.
